On both the Windows and NES versions of the game, you now have the ability to retry a level if you've missed discovering a gold fish or a secret exit. Also, you no longer lose your gold fish total upon Game Over. I suppose that makes Game Overs technically worthless now, but at least they're somewhat demoralizing!
